Železiar and its shows

Železiar likes humour. Its shows prepared and performed together with a humoristic group Drišľak (Vichodňarska šou, Hutoraci hlavi hore - The Easterners´ show; Easterners, raise your heads) were highly appreciated by the audience. Unconventional and experimental choreographies were presented in its program Vydumané tance a scénické výstrelky (Made-up dances and stage eccentricities), in a compact program inspired by fairy tales from Zemplín - Kráľovstvo tanca (The Kingdom of the Dance) and a dance theatre Hriech? (Sin?).

Besides its universal cross-regional repertory of the past years, the ensemble lately offers a more profound presentation of traditional culture from the particular regions of Eastern Slovakia. The audience had been presented with the traditions from the region of Abov (Kedz nas scece tu nas mace - If you want us, here we are), folklore of the people from the region of Zemplín, Hungarians, nomad and settled Romanies from Slovakia, Hungary and Romania (Gadži, Romale - Čhavale), dance, musical and vocal folklore of Ruthenians and Ukrainians from Spiš, Šariš and Zemplín (Rusnacka maňira - The Ruthenian way) and folklore from the region of Spiš (Spišiaci). The latest show - Muž a žena v tanci (A man and a woman in dance) - discovers what dancing brings to people.
